Natural Bug Killer Giveaway

Summer is just about here which means the bugs are too. I usually spray the outside of my house with whatever bug killer I find at the hardware store. I always worry about my kids playing outside after doing this, but have never found a better alternative.

I have decided that I don't want chemicals around my house anymore after 2 little girls here in Utah died from pesticide poisoning used around their house. You can see the tragic story here (The 15 month old died soon after her 4 yr. old sister).

I have recently learned about an organic home pest control company called EcoSMART. They make natural insect repellent and have products that are both kid friendly and non-toxic. I was thrilled when they sent me some of their products and offered to do a giveaway for my readers. I have some pesky ants marching around the front door of my house and I am thrilled that I haven't seen them since I got my EcoSMART products. The front door sees a lot of traffic and I am relieved and happy that my kids can go in and out without fear of harmful pesticides.

You can click on their "where to buy" tab on their website and find a store near you that sells EcoSMART products. I was surprised to find a huge list of stores in my area and will be buying more when I run out.

  1. I always worry about this, too. We are surrounded by so many harsh chemicals in our daily lives; it's nice that this doesn't have to be included in that list.

    i found you via handbags n pigtails. i would love to win the bundle. we have switched over to organic/natural for about 5 years. i recently ordered the Ecosmart Home Pest Conrol (from Vitacost) & used it on some bumblebees that had invaded our deck furniture. it works on contact w/o those nasty chemicals. chemicals can do so much damage to the nervous system, let alone contaminate our water system, etc. i would love to try their other products as organic & natural is the way to go!

  8. We had a cat die mysteriously once and I have always thought it was from chemicals that might have been on the ground outside that caused her death. It would be nice to know my kids and pet are safe from ingesting harmful products.

  10. This is a constant worry for us, we have so many pets and they will eat/drink anything. I often worry about things being contaminated by chemicals that I can't see. Thanks for the tip! Great blog, by the way!

  12. EcoSmart sounds really familiar, but am sure I have never used it before. I usually try to take care of these critters on my own without harming them, but I do have friends who are environmentally-conscious, though cannot stand these "pests." Would really appreciate one of these EcoSmart products! Thanks.

  16. i would love to win because we have so many mosquitoes in the area we live in (near water) and i have already found a tick on my 3 yr old this year! i also started an herb garden and am trying to keep it organic, so this would help my plants, and my family stay healthy!

  17. I have been using many natural things such as vinegar to get rid of the ants but they only help a little! I have a little one who puts everything in her mouth so I do not want to use chemicals in our home! I would love to try this product!

  21. We live in a wooded area and have lots of ants and mosquito problems. We have used pesticides for many years, but each time I use them, I feel very scared. We have three children and I would love to try this new alternative. If it is as effective as the "bad" ones, I would gladly make the change. I want to know I am keeping my family safe and healthy.
