Bathroom Remodel, Espresso or White?

Monday, July 1, 2013

Bathrooms are one of the most used rooms in the house right up there with the kitchen. When selling a house, the bathroom and kitchen are key selling points, so it makes sense to spend some money updating them. The first thing I updated when I bought my house 2 years ago, was the kitchen (You can see all of my blog posts for my kitchen remodel on the sidebar). Now I am getting ready to tackle the master bathroom. My last house didn't have a master bathroom, so I am pretty ecstatic just to have one. However, I am getting tired of looking at the 1980s honey oak vanity.

There are a lot of amazing things you can do on a budget and I am excited about all of the possibilities. Mostly I'm just excited to have my own master bathroom separate from the kids. Since I don't have to share my bathroom, I want to give it a more modern look with a contemporary bathroom vanity.

I love this espresso finish and silver hardware.

But white would be really cheerful and bright to wake up to every morning.

  1. Definitely the espresso. When I was looking at houses a year ago, any house with white cabinetry was a dealbreaker for us.

  2. I love the white! My husband works on movie sets and the set decorators are staunchly anti-espresso finish. Which...take that as you will...

When in doubt, err on the side of cheerful!

  4. We did espresso in the master and main bathrooms. I love it! It looks so rich and...well...fancy :-)

  5. I love the look of the Espresso and silver hardware, but I love white even more. It usually tends to brighten a room and makes it feel super clean. So I would go with the white! Can't wait to see before/afters! :)

  6. The cheery white one!! It seems like lighter colours always help to give the impression of more natural light in a room. Love the more old fashioned feel of it too!

  7. I like the white, it's brighter and cheerier. The espresso cabinet is very nice but I feel like a bathroom needs light and color and dark wood tones don't add to that. But then it would depend on the amount of natural light and the size of the space. water damage Raleigh NC
