84th Penny Pinching Party

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Thanks to everyone who has commented on the roof colors and voted on the poll. It looks like most of you think charcoal looks best with weathered wood coming in a close second. I think I am going to leave the white siding and trim as-is since it is maintenance free without paint on it. I like the charcoal roof, but am worried about the heat factor and am leaning toward weathered wood. I am even considering solar shingles (Click HERE for a video by Consumer Reports about solar shingles). I am still not sure about the door color either. Jessie from Cupcakes and Craziness suggested a navy door and I am really liking that idea.

Normally I know what I want and don't think twice, but when I have to live with it for 30 years I suddenly become super indecisive. Keep the suggestions coming! I love all of the different ideas. I would have never thought of the navy door on my own; Thanks Jessie!

  4. Thanks for hosting! I would never have thought navy either but now that you mention it I think a navy door would look really nice! I think it would really pop against the white trim. Good luck with your decision :)
