25th Penny Pinching Party

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ♣ I'm not Irish, but my kids expect St. Patrick's Day♣ to be special anyway. Today they will be having a green lunch at school. I am packing kiwi, green apple juice, key lime yogurt, etc... Later today they will be going on a scavenger hunt for a pot of gold (chocolate gold coins). I always make it a cleaning scavenger hunt and I don't give them the next clue until the chore is done. Hey if I'm gonna give them chocolate, they've got to earn it. For dinner we will be eating at Chick-Fil-A because anything we buy on St. Patrick's Day♣ will be free when we go back again before March 31st (My local Chick-Fil-A is doing this, not sure about others). For dessert mint chocolate ice cream cones. Now for the 25th Penny Pinching Party!!!

Whew, I just went thru every single link from last week to find my favorites to feature. First I scrolled down to the bottom of each post to see if it linked back to my Penny Pinching Party. If it did, I went back and read the entire post. If my party is not linked, I don't even read the post and I go to the next link. I may start deleting posts that don't link back, just to make it fair to those who do. Luckily these fabulous posts linked up and I am so happy to feature them. If you were featured, don't forget your "I Was Featured" button.

First up is my very own post. I painted this desk months ago, but finally got around to posting it. My tip here is to take advantage of the sample cans of paint. They cost $2.98 at Lowes and can be tinted any color. They are great for small projects!

Tearing up Houses shared how to sell your house on The $0 Budget. She has a lot of really great ideas, even if your not selling and you just want to make your house more warm and inviting.

The Magic Brush inc. refinished this table and posted a very funny video about it.

Sew Can Do posted a great tutorial on how to turn newborn clothes into toddler clothes.

Struggling to be Stylish posted a tutorial on How to Change a Door Handle.

  6. That desk is darling! I love the soft pink. I love pink! Pretty sure it's cause I have 3 girls. If I didn't love pink-I am pretty sure I would be banned from the house.
I even think that my husband has a soft place in his heart for the color-although he would so deny it!
I was wondering-in the pic it looks like there is a polka dot border. Looks super cute-just wondering what it was.
Thanks for having such a fun party!!
