Happy Black Friday!

Friday, November 27, 2009

I had a great Thanksgiving tonight with my family and am ready for Black Friday. Because there are so many Black Friday deals out there right now, I am taking a break from my regular FREE Friday post.

I have seen all of the ads and have selected a few items that I want (Can't mention anything specific because my son occasionally reads my blog). My dear sweet hubbie will be the one to get up at 4:30 am and try to get everything. He enjoys the thrill of the hunt and I enjoy staying in bed and answering the phone every few minutes when he calls with updates.

No, he will not be going to Best Buy or camping out anywhere. I don't want any of the really hot ticket items so there is a good chance of getting most of the things on my list. I am going out by myself later in the morning to get everything else. I have found that there are still a lot of items available later in the morning and I can get the great price as long as I get there before 1 pm (The time most door-busters end).

Just now I did all of my Old Navy doorbuster shopping online. Shipping is free if you spend $50 or more and if you use this code, "ontenoff" you get $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. I spent $60 exactly and got my $10 off plus free shipping. I got some jeans for my kids for $10 and some snow-bibs for $15. I didn't have to fight a crowd or search for the sizes I need.

Happy Black Friday everyone! I would love to hear where you went and your stories!

  2. Absolutely! First time at WalMart's Black Friday & got all but one thing I wanted (not so bad), hit Target 2 hours into the sale & got all but one thing I wanted (but got a raincheck for it), went to Kohl's for a few things (crazy lines!), and then to Michaels's. I was gone for 7 hours. Then, to finish off the day, we went to ToysRUs this afternoon and was able to find what I wanted after scouring the store (very satisifying) - I'm beat, but it was a lot of fun and totally worth it.

  3. Black Friday has been a tradition in our family for as long as I can remember. I think this year I went just for tradition's sake, but I did get some good deals at Walmart. I was impressed that all the shoppers this year seemed to be very polite and the store employees were helpful. Much different from other years that I've been. By the time I got out of there at 8:30 all the crowds were gone and I didn't even have to wait in line.....Awesome!

  4. My DH went to Walmart at 4:30 am and got every single item on our list. He dashed over to Toys R Us around 6:00 am and was in and out with those items I wanted. I went out later and did some shopping for myself. Who knew that my favorite find would be bras for 50% off until 1 pm. I have never boughten bras on Black Friday before. Merry Christmas to ME!
